Don't wake a sleeping baby

So, this saying, I have decided, stems not from the health "risks" associated with waking sleeping babies, but from the meer fact that it really pisses them off! Reina was asleep in the wrap (see picture) before bed time. Once we got her out to put her in her pjs and off to bed she was QUITE unhappy. So, the moral is don't wake a sleeping baby b/c it makes them angry!

The next pics are from the next morning. She is getting pretty good at holding herself up. I've also started putting her in her 6 month onsies - and they just about fit. I think I just got tired of the 3 month ones!

PS - We have been to Family Mart, a Japanese grocery store, a sports store, the beach, and a furniture store with NO crying. I guess this is progress, or perhaps she just likes shopping!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Well, Reina has really mastered the roll. However, she seems to do it whether she wants to or not, and when she does, she is not always happy about the outcome. And she seems to have only mastered the roll from the back to the stomach (which is interesting b/c in the beginning she seemed to be better at going the opposite way).

So, I included a short clip of her rolling. She is still frustrating me with random crying sessions outside of the home, which I continue to try to explain. Chris keeps telling me, this is where the saying comes "you're a baby" since babies are supposed to cry. She seems to get scared, and this is the ONLY time we ever hear Reina cry. She is ok in the sling or car seat, so I fear she will be tied to me the whole time we're in the states! We're going to work on "scary" situations though.

The school year is wrapping up quickly. We have three weeks left and 1 of those will be half days and exams for me. 4 weeks until we visit Seoul...and then off to the states.

4 month stats

Reina went in for her 4 month ck up on Friday. She did pretty much as we expected. The second Chris and I put her down or passed her over she cried. But other than that she was fine. She weighed 14lbs and 12oz (60 percentile) and was 24 inches long (30 percentile). It seems she is already a little on the short side! She got three shots that she did not enjoy. On Saturday she had a slight fever and was much needier than usual. All else was great. The doctor encouraged us to keep her on breastmilk until she is sitting well on her own (which should be around 6 months). I'm hoping to hold off solids until we get back to Oki.

Our summer plans will commence on June 21 in which we will spend a week with my mom in Seoul. Then we'll head to Seattle on the 27. I am taking an AP certification course in Bellevue, so the government will be putting us up in a hotel until July 3. Then we'll visit with the Eastman's in Tacoma thru the 6th. After that we'll be up in Bellingham until about July 18, which we will drive down to Roseburg, OR to spend the remainder of our trip with my Dad. We hope to visit all of our family and friends and introduce Reina (at a distance it seems!!).
